Ramy Issac - A Famous Architecture

Originally from Israel, Ramy Issac immigrated to the United States when he was 27 years old.  During his early life, he had grown up in a small town Tzfat, that had been dubbed as the “artist colonies” in Israel. It had been the home to many artists, and at the age of 16, Issac attributed his passion for art, mostly in painting from having grown up there. Ramy Issac had held art exhibitions in the city and had gone on to receive awards for his artwork. He had to put a pause on his art career when he had to serve in the Israeli Army from 1971 to 1974.
After completing his military service, at 21, Ramy Issac then moved to Haifa where he went on to study architecture at Technion which at the time had been the only architectural institute in Israel. He graduated cum laude from Techion in 1979 and was then selected to participate in an award trip in Sweden to work in the city of Sodertelege, from there he worked for the mayor’s office. He shortly returned back home to Israel it was there he decided to move to New York to pursue his master's degree and was accepted into the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York.

He completed his master's degree in 1983 and was hired right from school for the widely known Emory Roth & Sons that were most notably known for designing famous New York City buildings such as the World Trade Center, The Sonia Hotel, and many other buildings throughout the city. He worked there for seven years, where he became a project manager and was the project manager for the new G7 Headquarters.

After working for Emory Roth & Sons from 1981 to 1988, Ramy went on to establish Issac & Stern Architects. When he opened his firm many of his projects had been mostly renovations of current buildings, commercial jobs, and a few residential projects. He had also designed many community facilities, synagogues, churches, and restaurants throughout the city. Issac’s firm is best known for being able to incorporate efficient layouts and being able to maximize the rights for development clients that choose to work with them. They have prided themselves in being able to turn projects around quickly, and efficiently while saving money for their developers in construction, while increasing their revenues.

When Issac isn’t working he still enjoys art and likes to get involved in creating artwork when the time permits. He is also very passionate about music, and he used to study the piano as a child and enjoys playing it when he can.
