Ramy Issac The Artist

 Ramy Issac was born and lived in the north part of Israel Galil in a small town Tzfat which was an “artist colony” in Israel that was a house for many famous artists, some of them internationally known. Growing up in the artist colony, Ramy received inspiration from the local artists and started painting and participating in art classes and exhibitions until the age of 18 when he was drafted into the Israeli Army.  At the age of 21 Ramy moved to Haifa to study in “Technion” which was the only institute that had architectural school in Israel at that time and after 5 years graduated cum laude. Ramy was selected for a student exchange program in Sweden and was working in SodertelgeSweden for a period of 4 months during the summer of 1978.  He prepared few renderings for the city of Sodertelge and designed with an engineer for two new bridges that were published with Ramy’s renderings in the local Swedish newspaper.  
After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in architecture and city planning in 1979 Ramyworked in Israel for a period of 18 months.  Subsequently, he applied for a student visa in the United States and registered for a master’s degree from Pratt Institute in 1981.  Ramy completed hismaster’s degree in Pratt Institute also cum laude in 1983.
After graduating from Pratt Institute, Ramy applied for a working visa and was hired by “Emery Roth & Sons”, a prestigiousmulti-generational office located in New York.  Emery Roth & Sons designed manyprominent buildings in NYC such as the World Trade Center, City Corp, Ansonia Hotel to name a few. Ramy worked at Emery Roth & Sons until August of 1988 when he decided to open his own practice as a registered architect in New York.  As a small new office in the 1990’s Ramy designed multi community facilities, synagogues, churches, and hundreds of restaurants and food established business and functioned excellently during a period of time when New York City experienced a declineand construction of new buildings was very rare.  In the 2000’s Ramy Issac & Issac & Stern designed hundreds of buildings in the metropolitan area which were residential mixed-use buildings and community facilities.  Presently Issac & Stern is a dynamic architectural firm that can turn a project very quickly and efficiently and save the developer a substantial amount of money in construction and increase his revenues.
Ramy Issac, principal and founder of Issac & Stern Architects, possesses the ability to be creative and combine raw knowledge of zoning and code and translate them into architectural forms that contribute to the surrounding buildings while also maximizing the developers return on their investment.  Since founding the firm Ramy hasexpanded his team and has designed, managed, and executed a diverse array of projects encompassing renovations of existing buildings, conversions of existing structures, changes in use group occupancy, as well as high rises combing several use groups into one cohesive structure. The synthesis of these elements has led to the creation ofdistinctive structures that flow within the existing New York City skyline and neighborhoods; a hallmark of his seminal and extensive body of work.
