Ramy Issacs Layered Architecture Design Will Make you Stand Out !

Ramy Issacs passion for art and architecture started at a young age growing up in an artist’s enclave and has been a foundation piece of his development and creative design process throughout his career.  Upon graduating from Technion Institute in Israel, and arriving in New York City shortly thereafter, Ramy began his career at Emory Roth and Sons; a prestigious and world renown architectural firm that has designed and competed award-winning buildings.  These formative years were crucial in his development and understanding of the challenges of architectural design and where Ramy has stood out among his peers.

Striking out on his own and opening Issac & Stern Architects, P.C in the summer of 1988, Ramy’sdesign process first and foremost starts with his clients desired menu and marketing requirements which are then transformed into reality through a creative process that has many layers.  The beginning of these layers always starts and is constrained by the local building codes and zoning regulations.

Within New York City, these are vast and complex and require a detailed understanding of the zoning texts and regulations which is where Ramy excels.  His understanding of the complicated and comprehensive zoning requirements is a testament to his knowledge and longevity within architecture and has become one of his most impressive abilities within the architectural community.

The second layer of design is derived from the client’s needs and requirements on each individual project.  Once these parameters have been established, Ramy is able to synthetize these requirements into a cohesive strategy for both the exterior façade as well as interior layouts.  In doing so Ramy is always aware of the duality of maximizing the sellable area for his clients as well as delivering a design that blends intricate details and cohesive layouts for units that meet the marketing guidelines.

This process can be arduous and take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks depending on the size of the project, complexity of the zoning regulations, and desired menu and features for the building itself.  It is during this process that Ramy’s depth of knowledge of NYC zoning and code shines through and can take a project from concept to finished design quickly and efficiently. This enables the client to move ahead of schedule into the filing and approval stage with the building department saving valuable time.

Throughout these first two layers of the design process, Ramy Issac is directly involved day to day with the client.  He analyzes the project from a location, regulation, and zoning code perspective as well as sketching and creating layouts which are then presented to the client and modified as requested.  A hallmark of his architectural work is this direct involvement and communication ensuring that the client’s needs and vision are met promptly and effectively.  This characteristic is what makes Ramy Issac and Issac & Stern Architects, P.C stand out in their design approach and vision and provides excellent service quality in every project they touch.
