Know the Man Behind New York’s Breathtaking Structures

It is said that dreams may be born in mind first, but how one applies themselves to turn them into a reality is what defines an individual’s future. Similar is the story of Issac & Stern Architects’ founder, Ramy Issac, an Israeli-born dreamer and a talented creator.

Ramy Issac has been an admirer of art painting since his early years of education which drove him to pursue architecture despite his very different experience serving in the Israeli army. He studied and graduated Cum Laude by receiving dual degrees in Architecture and City Planning from Israel’s only university that offered architectural studies at the time – Technion. This further paved the way for Ramy to complete a Master of Architecture degree from New York’s Pratt Institute in 1981. After moving to the Big Apple at the young age of 20, Ramy Issac poured himself into acquiring his Masters’ degree and started working as a project manager at Emory Roth & Sons architectural firm. The years spent at this firm gave Issac the additional knowledge and confidence he knew would require in making a name for himself on the New York landscape.

His dream became a tangible piece of success in 1988 when he founded his own firm – Issac & Stern Architects and gathered an impressive team with some of the best architects in the city. The quality and style of working that bind this team together is their tenacious process of bringing an idea into existence. Even before a building project is drafted onto paper, Ramy and his lead architects spend countless brainstorming sessions imagining the concept and then finding novel solutions to each and every minute detail, expected challenge, and addressing the wants and needs of the client. It is only then that the team draws up a blueprint that is carefully thought out and painstakingly detailed.

Presently, Ramy Issac is running his firm with his partner, Ralph Kowalczyk, an equally qualified and skilled architect from Poland. Kowalczyk joined Issac & Stern Architects in 2007 and made his way up to the title of Partner by 2017 through his hard work and an eye for detail that oversees an array of projects, including boutique and high-rise buildings in addition to historic conversions.

Issac & Stern Architects continue to build beautiful homes and commercial properties with their core belief of blending functionalism and aesthetics in their building designs. Reach out the Ramy Issac and his team for a look through their portfolio and create a masterpiece in your own name.
